Thin Stone Veneer is a natural stone product that is created by manufacturers sawing material at thicknesses between 1 1/2” - 2 1/2”. By reducing the weight the materials can be installed in a variety of applications where a footing may be unavailable or engineering restrictions inhibit the use of a full stone material. Thin stone veneers are available in a variety of pattern types that can fit your project or your desired aesthetic. They are a great option for construction projects where budgets do not allow for a concrete footing or clearances are not appropriate for a full stone application.
Full Stone Veneers are natural stone veneers which range in thickness anywhere between 3”-10”. These materials add a degree of character that cannot be reproduced with a thin veneer and can be installed in both loading bearing or non load bearing applications. They require a concrete footing that is installed below the frost depth mandated by local codes. By being a solid structure they are more durable and resistant to possible movement with seismic activity or harsh freeze thaw.
Full Stone veneers are available in a variety of pattern types and styles. Full stone can be more costly but adds value and character that cannot be recreated using a thin stone veneer. When properly installed full stone veneers last years beyond that of a thin stone veneer due to their resistance to movement and cracking.
